Chronic ruptures of Achilles tendons are those that present four to six weeks after the original injury. They have become more common as acute Achilles tendon injuries have become more frequent, and they are associated with considerable functional morbidity.
The purpose of this paper is to summarize the latest thinking in portal placement for knee arthroscopy. Proper portal placement is essential to successful knee arthroscopy, as it defines the surgeon’s access to the joint. Numerous approaches have been described in the literature, from the so-called “universal” anterolateral portal to a posterior trans-septal portal.
Although rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction is thought to be very important by almost all surgeons, very little discussion concerning this matter is included in most paperspublished on ACL reconstructions and their follow-ups.
